Affiliate Disclosure
Last updated: July 11, 2026
WattCosts is free to use and shows no display ads. To cover its costs, some pages contain affiliate links: if you click one and then buy a product or request a quote, WattCosts may earn a commission or referral fee from the merchant. You never pay more by using these links — the commission comes out of the merchant's side.
How you can tell
Every affiliate link on this site sits inside a clearly marked recommendation box labeled "Affiliate link" with a link back to this page. Links inside calculators, results, FAQ answers, and guides that are not in such a box are ordinary links — we earn nothing from them.
What it never changes
- Calculator results are never affected. All math uses published formulas and U.S. EIA rate data, documented on each page.
- Recommendations are category-level and factual (e.g. "a plug-in energy monitor measures real wattage") — the product would be worth mentioning even with no link.
- No tracking on this site. Clicking an affiliate link takes you to the merchant, whose own cookies and privacy policy then apply (see our privacy policy).
Programs we may participate in
Affiliate networks and merchants such as Amazon Associates (as an Amazon Associate, this site earns from qualifying purchases) and FlexOffers partners including EnergySage. This page will be kept current as programs are added or removed.
